STARS HOLIDAY MARKET

Just in time for the holiday gift giving season the DTA Skills Training participants created a Holiday Market of hand-crafted home décor items available for purchase.

Our very own Direct Support Provider (DSP) Carlos Garcia, spearheaded the Holiday Skills Training Project which provided valuable life skills such as patience and team work while creating holiday gifts for friends and family.

VACCINATION WORKSHOPS

Last Call - COVID 19 Vaccination Workshop

STARS will be hosting its final COVID-19 vaccination educational workshop of the year for participants, staff, parents/guardians on Tuesday, December 28th. This workshop will be facilitated by TAPI (The Arizona Partnership for Immunization). 

The presenters will share valuable information that we hope will be useful to you and your family.  We strongly encourage all attendees to ask plenty of questions; anyone that engages in the discussion will be entered into a raffle for various prizes, including a $150 amazon gift card!

Session #1 – 2 pm – 3 pm

Session #2 – 3 pm – 4 pm

A vaccination team will also be on-site to provide 1st dose, 2nd dose or booster shots (if eligible)  to attendees. The vaccines available will be Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson. For those of you planning on getting your 2nd or booster shot, please bring your vaccination card the day of your session.

 

DOING GOOD IN THE COMMUNITY

Congratulations Vicente for recently completing the Employment First Initiative and graduating to the Community Based Job Support Program.  He has found a very rewarding position helping the groundskeeper/maintenance/housekeeping departments at The Saguaro Hotel in Old Town Scottsdale. Pictured above is Vicente receiving his Thanksgiving gift card; a small token of The Saguaro's appreciation for their employees hard work and commitment.
